Bush the defeatist (as usual) August 22, 2006

So, George had a news conference today. In it, he admitted what his generals have told him all along: As long as Bush is in office, he won’t let our soliders win.
Here’s the transcript. And here’s what the coward said:
“…either you say, yes, it’s important that we stay there and get it done; or we leave. We’re not leaving so long as I’m the president.”
He’s hoping you don’t notice the way one thing hangs on another. He’s hoping you don’t notice that he won’t let us leave, because he won’t commit the resources our brave young men and women need to “get it done” and win.
After all, from his personal point of view, he’s won, and to hell with the average trooper. The only reason we’re in Iraq is because George wanted to brag to his father. It certainly had nothing to do with terrorism. Bush doesn’t give a damn about terrorism, and he doesn’t give a damn about the cries of the dead from 9/11.
Want proof? Saddam Hussein is in prison. Osama bin Laden is still on the loose. After five years! If Bush gave a damn about terrorism and revenging 9/11, it would be the other way around.
Instead, Bush shows he has no loyalty to the people who elected him, no loyalty to the troops who obey his increasingly illegal orders, no loyalty to anything other than his own ego.
